Loft insulation
It's worth insulating the sloping insides of a pitched roof in order to conserve heat if the space is to be used for anything except simple storage. It will also add to the houses overall insulation.
It must be remembered that just because a roof space is insulated and the floor boarded, it does not mean that the room can be considered a 'habitable' room - for a Loft Conversions of a roof space, building regulations must be met which includes suitable fixed access (not a loft ladder), lighting etc.
Before fitting any insulation to the sides of a pitched roof space, any repairs to the roof should be completed - once the insulation is in place it will be harder to spot any leaks inside the roof and any leaks will soak the insulation itself.
